Hot Dog Nachos for Fun and Profit

Hot Dog Nachos
Hot dog nachos are a budget-friendly, tasty treat and an absolute necessity for any home theater or vending business. As Americans become more weight conscious and aware of the health dangers associated with obesity, it’s easy to think that snack foods are no longer part of the national consciousness.

Fortunately, that’s not the case. Make a few tweaks and you can easily transform a snack food into a meal.

Home theaters have become standard construction in many new homes. In existing homes, some families choose to redesign bonus rooms or family rooms and add comfortable seating, large projection screens, surround-sound acoustics and high-definition projectors. Serving hot dog nachos and other movie theater foods not only provides a more authentic atmosphere, but also boosts the fun level.

Compliment Your Hot Dog Nachos With Popcorn Machines

Purchase one of many type theater-style popcorn machines and a hot dog roller or grill and be certain to start up both machines before your family and guests arrive. The delicious aromas wafting through your home theater will greet them and instantly rouse their appetites. Prepare all your fix-ens in advance, including chopped jalapenos, diced onions, shredded cheese, fresh cilantro, avocado, lime juice, blue corn tortilla chips, chipotle sauce and whatever else whets your appetite. One of the best things about hot dog nachos is that you can do no wrong. It’s a meal that you can easily customize to fit your individual taste and cater to the more health conscious members of your family.

Use fresh vegetables when you can. They contain more vitamins and minerals and also serve as a source of natural fiber. Use low-fat cheese. There is little difference in taste, but the fat content can easily be halved. As for the hot dogs, low-fat beef, chicken or turkey dogs all contain fewer calories without sacrificing on flavor. Finally, add a whole-wheat or multi grain bun and you’re looking at hot dog nachos not just as a snack, but as a delicious, low-calorie, low-fat meal filled with vitamins, minerals and whole grains. It’s the kind of meal that even younger children will enjoy. To maintain the health benefits, serve popcorn for dessert, along with a glass of low-fat milk, water or diet soda.

Serve Hot Dog Nachos To Your Customers

If you own a vending business, there is no reason to sacrifice taste and health benefits for more mobility. Prepare your ingredients in advance. Granted, you’ll have to prepare bucket loads of chopped vegetables instead of bowlfuls, but that’s okay. Your customers will appreciate being able to easily customize their hot dog nachos. You’ll have the advantage of being able to tout the health benefits of your product, differentiating yourself from your competitors.

Don’t limit your customer base to omnivores. Purchase soy or tofu hot dogs. They have less fat, so you may need to add oil when you cook them, but otherwise serve them just as you would any other hot dog. You may also need to buy different buns to cater to the vegetarian market, but it may be worth the added cost for the benefit of being able to open your business to a completely new market.
Hot dog nachos with a bit of creativity are a tasty and healthy addition to either your home theater or vending business.
